Summary:
FIRST is looking for a technology-savvy individual to provide engineering support to the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competition as a 2019 Summer Intern. The primary duties of the Engineering Intern include assisting with control system development and testing, and producing technical training material.
June-August 2019 FIRST Tech Challenge paid Internship, located in Manchester, NH, 40 hours week $15-$19 per hour.
The essential job duties:
- Design, plan and execute engineering tests using the FIRST Tech Challenge control system and software.
- Record test results and produce engineering test reports.
- Assist with the planning, production, and editing of printed and/or video training material and technical documentation.
You'll rock it if you have these skills!
- Proficient with the Java programming language and using Android Studio.
- Significant experience using, programming, and troubleshooting the FIRST Tech Challenge Android-based control system.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics and electronics, especially related to building/supporting a FIRST Tech Challenge robot.
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and Microsoft Word/Google Docs.
- Ability to write easy-to-understand technical documents and training material.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
- Organized, with the ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
- Applicant must be a good team player, but also be able to work independently.
- Applicant is studying electrical or robotics engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or physics.
